Mindoula Practice Manager in Kensington, Maryland

About Us

Mindoula Management Services is seeking an experienced Practice Manager for a rapidly growing psychiatric practice in Kensington, MD. The ideal candidate will be energetic, flexible, and capable of exercising sound judgment and problem-solving skills in a dynamic, constantly changing, often pressured environment.

The Practice Manager will be responsible for the overall success of all outpatient clinics. A high level of professionalism is required as the person in this position will communicate with a variety of people on a daily basis.

Essential Functions

  • Review and prioritize incoming work to distribute to other team members

  • Supervise employees who are responsible for insurance verification and intake process

  • Handle escalated patient complaints

  • Manage schedules for all outpatient clinics

  • Schedule appointments that maximize financial potential of clinicians and manage workflow with impeccable attention to detail and profitability

  • Handle complicated outstanding accounts and find resolution

  • Prepare complete and concise written materials, reports, and documentation

  • Complete and present extensive data on the profitability of the outpatient clinics

  • Coordinate, and assist when necessary, with other team members billing, payment posting and A/R follow up tasks

Competencies

  • Ability to read and interpret various insurance companies' EOBs

  • Proficient in Windows XP and MS Word, Excel and Outlook

  • Above average writing and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to handle confidential matters on day-to-day basis

  • Professional appearance, demeanor and telephone etiquette

  • Previous experience in financial management or clinic management that involves budgeting, financial analysis and projection

  • Ability to coordinate and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment

  • Ability to work under pressure of deadlines without sacrificing quality of work

Requirements

Required Education and Experience Preferred Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Healthcare Management or Business Administration required

  • Minimum 3 years work experience in medical office management

  • Medical billing experience a plus

  • Mental Health outpatient clinic management experience a plus

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Prior experience in behavioral healthcare setting a plus

  • Familiarity with EMR

Supervisory Responsibility

Must have demonstrated ability to manage others or projects of agency significance; Clinical supervision and/or management experience is preferred.

Work Environment

Work is generally performed in a standard office environment with opportunity to work from home. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers and phones.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position requires the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies, up to 20 pounds.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time 40 hour per work position. Monday - Friday.

Travel

This position requires up to 10% travel.
