The WKU Store operation is part of Auxiliary Services under the division of Finance & Administration. This non-commission position supervises, plans, organizes, and oversees the operations and functions of the technology and supply departments. The Specialist will be a tech savvy, innovative and solutions oriented goal oriented producer who will be the store's senior technical report writer and technology specialist. As they will be over technology, this person will be required to solicit supply adoptions on campus and grow the selection of university supported technology sales. This position reports to and receives general direction from the General Merchandise Manager and may be asked to work in various unrelated departments depending on business needs. This position also provides immediate supervision to the associates assigned to the technology departments.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
The following duties are customary for this position, but are not to be construed as all-inclusive. Duties may be added, deleted, and assigned based on management discretion and institutional needs.
Oversees the procurement, receiving, stocking, returning and marking down for The WKU Store's Technology department and other GM departments as needed, ensuring proper inventory levels, product mix, markdowns and shrink prevention in each department.
Oversees workload and training of associates assigned to The WKU Store Technology departments.
Building on campus relationships and responsibility of supplies' adoption collection to expand The WKU Store's offering of course-related supplies and technology
Serves as The WKU Store's Senior Report Writer (RBSPrism), writing and re-building reports to produce usable data for various areas of The WKU Store
Serves as The WKU Store's technical administrator, ensuring that all staff has proper technology access, camera and hardware/software training along with maintaining The WKU Store's equipment and depreciating asset lists.
Oversees the building, setup and teardown of store fixturing each season (sports shops, buyback, rush fixtures, etc.,..)
Oversees delivery of all technology and supplies items on campus (student appliances, technology)
Responsible for following budgeted departmental goals.
Serves as TopShop administrator, overseeing all areas from catalog building, campus relationship building to grow business, IT partnership and accurate sales tracking.
Oversees creation of marketing materials and their appropriate distribution with partnership of various vendor partners.
Consistent top level training status (where available) with each technology vendor.
Provides technical support, troubleshooting, diagnosis and repair service to technology customers of The WKU Store.
Responsible for record keeping, including purchase orders, invoices, price lists, etc.,
Perform other job duties as assigned
Knowledge and Skills Considered Essential for Success:
Capable of accurately creating, reading, and recording inventory data, price lists, reports, purchase orders, and other related documents
Knowledge of retail math including budgetary and sales goals, gross margins, turns, net profit, etc.
Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, and prioritize workload and job assignments. Seeks out efficiency and to demonstrate good use of available resources
Outstanding communication, written, listening, and verbal skills. Required to effectively work with customers, co-workers , and vendors
Ability to meet required sales goals
High School Diploma
Three years related experience
One year previous repair experience
Ability to acquire and maintain Apple Hardware Certification and other technology certifications for all related technology products (paid for by The WKU Store)
Lift and carry up to 50lbs unassisted (100lbs assisted) on a regular basis. Capable of bending, stretching, pushing, pulling, and reaching merchandise on high and low shelves
Salary Grade: 107 Hourly Range: $16.92 - $20.00
